Several Multi-CF Flange designs are available to enable addition capabilities (internal mounting, external mounting, and more) including:
Multi-CF Thin Flanges are typically used as 1) spacers to gain separation between components, 2) additional internal mounting “grabber” grooves to enable secure and adjustable mounting of components (0.400″ nominal thickness, bore containing thin flanges, CF 2.75″ and greater ), and 3) an additional intra-vacuum surface/membrane that can be used to mount parts and assemblies, and/or to create various openings or passages.
Flange Adapters (or Adapters) interface with CF (Conflat) fittings from Kimball Physics and other manufactures to provide additional options including: 1) internal mounting capabilities (Grabber Grooves), 2) external mounting capabilities, and 3) reduction in the port aperture diameter.
The Mounting Flange is a UHV CF (Conflat) flange primarily designed to provide an outside diameter (OD) channel or groove to enable external mounting. The open bore design is fabricated from Stainless Steel and typically has sealing surfaces on both sides, with the component inserted between two common CF style flanges from almost any manufacturer.
The Perimeter Weld Flanges are a weldable series of flanges that include the Conflat (CF) interface and the “Groove Grabber” Internal Mounting System along its internal bore.
The Tilt Adapter Flange is a UHV CF (Conflat) flange initially created for Laser Applications where it can be advantageous to have the viewport tilted off-axis to avoid damage due to the reflected beam. The component joins two (2) 2.75” CF components, with tapped threaded holes on the tilted side, and clear holes on the base side.
