Ion Gun Systems

Kimball Physics ion gun systems, or ion sources, are used in numerous applications, including: surface physics, space physics, vacuum physics, charge neutralization, detection calibration, secondary ion mass spectrometry and ion injection for MBE.

System

Kimball Physics is a key supplier of electron gun and power supply systems designed for use in a wide variety of ultra high vacuum (UHV) surface physics, space physics, and processing applications.

Cathodes

Kimball Physics electron emitters, including Lanthanum Hexaboride, Tantalum, Barium Oxide and Yttrium,  provide reliable sources of electrons for use in a variety of instruments including scanning and transmission electron microscopy, lithography, x-ray generation, free electron lasers, electron accelerators, and other custom applications.

Hardware

Kimball Physics Multi-CF™ vacuum chambers and mounting hardware are an integrated system of robust and versatile components,  providing significant capabilities and options in UHV applications where there are spatial constraints, high precision, and where a high density of experimental apparatus is required.

Detectors

Kimball Physics Faraday Cup and Phosphor Screen particle detectors, with no moving parts,  are stand-alone units that are mounted in the vacuum system, or integrated with the electron gun,  to provide visual and quantitative information about beam position, size, magnitude and the distribution.

eV Parts

 eV Parts are a “toolkit” of over 350+ standardized parts, made of high quality, vacuum compatible material, that provide flexible cost-effect solutions for mounting devices in vacuum or in the construction of new designs or prototypes for use in numerous surface physics and high vacuum applications.
